glusterfs-common software package provides GlusterFS common libraries and translator modules, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install glusterfs-common
glusterfs-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the glusterfs-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep glusterfs-common *
You will get with glusterfs-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
